  You are right and he is wrong, period! You would have ended up a battered wife. He was showing all of the signs of a future wife beater. Next time, when you start feeling guilty or confused and don't know why, GET OUT FAST! It's them not you. Avoid anyone who makes you feel bad about yourself. True friends love you and make you feel good. Poisonous ones don't.

  So, umm...who is the collector of the ransom? God collected it but shouldn't the devil have been paid, instead? God owned it (Jesus' life) in the first place as the one who died was already his. So, Adam and Eve sinned. They and kids pay. God kills son to rescue kids (us). God collects son's death as ransom to himself. ILLOGICAL! Wouldn't the ransom for people be paid to the devil, instead? I mean, he stole humans to begin with so the price to buy them back ought to be umm...I guess by them or by God umm...paid to the devil, not to God! Right?

  a family i know left the jw's two years ago, but their jw family thinks they are still in.

  the jw family insists to the point of forceful anger on paying for their convention trips every year.

  family feels trapped and cannot tell jw family that they don't go anymore because one member is powerful elder.

  A family I know left the JW's two years ago, but their JW family thinks they are still in. The JW family insists to the point of forceful anger on paying for their convention trips every year. Family feels trapped and cannot tell JW family that they don't go anymore because one member is powerful elder. Family is angry for being trapped like this and pressured to attend at JW family's orders. So...they "plan" for the convention and accept the money to keep JW family pacified. Does that make Family bad? JW family feels like all powerful mafia. What would you do?

  What kind of a funeral do you want?

  so all this talk at the moment about funerals and stuff got me thinking... what kind of an exit party would i like?.

  i reckon i would not want anything too formal, but i would want loads of people saying how great i was - i people to notice that i am no longer around, and be sad about it!

  i want people to share good memories.

  What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?

  when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".

  so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

  Minimus sounds a lot like my uncle and his wife sounds just like my aunt! She'd wear diamonds on all ten fingers at the hall, and I'm not talking about the little kind, either. She would wear real fur coats to the hall, too, and big wigs. It just didn't fit into the dress of the occasion. Nevertheless, I loved to see her all dressed up like that:) She was showing herself to be unique while all the rest were sheeple. She was an individual, and I liked that.

  i got this in an e-mail from a childhood friend that is still an active jw.

  i found it to be very upsetting and was wondering if anyone else gets the kind of e-mail forwards from friends/family that are still in?

  First of all, he sounded a bit controlling. She just didn't see it in the courtship.

  Second, JW's get AIDS, too! And, they think it can't happen to them. That's just ignorant. It's not just a sex disease. It's a blood and fluid sharing disease that can spread at the dentist, doctor, and at work, anywhere skin can break and get infected by another. Not easy to get, but possible.

  Thirdly, JW's lose their jobs, too. Jah doesn't keep them immune to life's stressors. They are NOT special.

  JWs hit their mates, too. I've seen it. They are NOT nicer than average people. Sometimes they are meaner.

  Forthly, this is a silly and shortsighted poem.
